Oil and gas is where Realix started and where most of our devices work today.
Drilling sites, production platforms, refineries, pipelines and fuel depots all contain areas where flammable gas can be present.
Hazards and zones
- Zone 1.
- Gas is likely during normal operation, for example near process equipment, loading points and wellheads.
- Zone 2.
- Gas is present only occasionally, for example around the wider process area.
- Toxic gas.
- Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a serious risk on sour gas and crude sites.
